We started the day fairly early (for us!) because we had to go to Roanoke to pick David up from the airport. We had to be there by 3pm, so we knew we had to get a relatively early start!
Getting the kids to post with Amanda for a group shot was almost impossible, but we did get a few pictures before we left...

Jack had a ball trying to eat Amanda's face! |

They're all in the picture, but only Jack was looking at the camera! |
We stopped at the Virginia welcome center to stretch our legs and find a geocache. Even though we lived in Blacksburg and traveled this stretch of road many times, we'd never tried to find the cache her. Today we were successful! It was a pretty easy one, and we got to check out the big Virginia seal.

The big seal was pretty cool! |

After finding the geocache we piled back in the car and headed to Roanoke. We arrived pretty much on time after a slight detour because of road construction and an accident. We were only half an hour late! I just hate it when that happens. We were SO close to being right on time or a little early and then traffic stopped... We got off the interstate and went around the congestion, but it still threw us off.
We finally made it to the airport and picked David up. After that we went by Chick-Fil-A for lunch. Gag... I don't really like the restaurant, but David thinks it is just AWESOME. Oh well... The kids like it, too, so everyone was mostly happy!
On our way back to Blacksburg we saw that an Amber Alert had been issued for the area. We saw a truck that fit the description of the kidnapper's vehicle, but weren't able to catch up with it because of the bad traffic. I hope they caught the woman who took that baby...
We made it to David and Wendy Chinn's house and settled in for the evening. After dinner and playing with Daisy we crashed into bed. We'll be up early tomorrow for some more fun!
