2011 Summer Road Trip - Day 24

We got up and got ready to go see some friends this morning at the Moran family farm just a few miles north of Hammond.  Katie was very excited because her old friend, Ryan Rumsey was supposed to be there!  Ryan lived with us for a while right after David and I got married, then again after we moved to Blacksburg.  He and Katie became best buddies, and she has missed him!

Of course, the Moran family outdid themselves once again on the food!  John made some chicken wings that, while a bit hot for a weenie like me, were very tasty!  We had a ton of other appetizers and main dishes, and they were all delicious!  I am so grateful that John's parents are willing to be hosts to us when we are in town.   It makes it so much easier for us to see everyone!

Ryan DID show up, and Katie was VERY excited to see him!

In addition to playing with Ryan, the kids explored Mrs. Mary's garden and ran all over the yard.  I don't think these kiddos could get enough of the great outdoors!  Av picked an eggplant, Katie tasted a fresh peach, Reese checked the tree for MORE peaches, Ai just checked out everything!

It was so good to be able to catch up with old friends and spend some time with them.  Hopefully we'll be able to do it again really soon!
