2011 Summer Road Trip - Day 10

Sunday, June 5, 2011
We left Uncle Armand's house late Saturday night and headed down to Beeville so that we could get up early Sunday and go visit Grandma.  We went to the nursing home, but she was sleeping when we got there so we went outside and called Grandpa Max.  He met us and we all joined him for lunch at a little Mexican restaurant just down the road.  We had a super lunch and visited quite a while.  Several people in the restaurant stopped to admire Jack and play with him while we ate.  As we were walking out, one woman called me over and asked me if she could touch Jack.  Of course, we let her, and she just cooed and fawned over him.  Who wouldn't?  Haha!  We think he's pretty cute, too!

When we got back to the nursing home Grandma was up and eating lunch.  We visited with her for a little while, but I think having us there just wore her out.   She didn't really know who we were until Max told her, which was kind of sad for us, but she seemed happy to have visitors.

We left Beeville after our visit to head to Houston for the night.  It was a pretty uneventful trip, but we did see a cool dinosaur in Wharton, Texas.  The girls thought it was great, so we got out for some pictures.   This dinosaur was the same type as Cinny in Oklahoma, but looked totally different.

We also stopped at the Tee Pee Motel just outside Wharton. We were all sad that we had to rush on to Houston so that David could catch a flight the next day.  We really wanted to stay there!  Maybe the next time we're in Texas we'll make it a point to stop by and spend a night or two.

We spent the night in Houston so that David could catch an early flight out to New York.  Other than the two stops we made in Wharton the day was pretty much uneventful.  We were happy to see Grandma and Grandpa, and that was the highlight of our day.
