2010 Summer Road Trip - Day 37

Saturday, July 3, 2010
Saturday morning we got up and got around so that we could go to the mall and do some shopping. We didn't really need anything, but we did want to see our niece, Alex! She was in Georgia, down from Wisconsin, to visit her grandmother, and had plans to hook up with her dad (Billy) that afternoon. Billy left before us so he could go pick her up, then we met them at the mall. The girls rode the carousel in the food court. It was a beautiful carousel, but my pictures were SO blurry!

After just a little shopping we were all starving, so we went to Fuddrucker's for lunch. Burgers aren't really my thing, but everyone else seemed to enjoy them. After lunch Alex had to get back home, so they took off. David, the kids and I went across to Motherhood Maternity to buy a brace for my back. Jack has been giving me terrible backaches, so we thought some extra support might help.

After our shopping trip we stopped at a fireworks stand and got a few things, then went for ice cream. It was WONDERFUL! It was really hot outside, and the ice cream really hit the spot! By the time we got home, both Billy and Michael were there.

Dinner that night was food fixed on the grill by David, our resident chef. He cooked some wonderful pork chops! Dinner was laid back and fabulous.

China bit Reese one more time, and after that Michael chased her out of the house. THANK YOU! Finally someone who isn't totally enamoured by the dang dog!

We played with some sparklers in the front yard for a while, then headed back in to settle down.

We also figured out that Reese LOVED Uncle Billy's shaved head. She just kept rubbing it and rubbing it. It was too funny!
