The Rundown: We spent the whole day with the Schwartz family today. The kids were still in school, but we still went over to their house to hang out so I could visit with Amy. Katie was a little bored without the boys there, but she managed pretty well. She loved playing with Carrington after she woke up from her nap, and I loved getting to visit with Amy. Reese was just happy to explore all of the boys toys!
After school we went to help Amy weed some corn in a garden that she shares with a friend. The kids jumped on the trampoline and we chatted while hoeing and pulling up grass. Amy lasted longer than I did (bending over to weed with this huge belly in the way was tough!), and we managed to get a lot done!
After weeding the garden we went to Macado's for dinner. We never make a trip to Blacksburg without eating there! Katie loves their Broccoli Cheese Au Gratin soup, so she has to have some every year! On Tuesday nights kids eat free, so it's pretty cheap, too! Since Katie's soup isn't on the kid's menu I still have to pay for her, but that is OK. It's rare we find something she likes as well as that soup. Kids' night is also fun because they do face painting and other fun kid things at the restaurant.
High Point of the Day: Eating at Macado's.
Low Point of the Day: Waiting for the boys to get out of school...
