NEWS FLASH!!! The Pumpkin Monster attacked a Joy, AR, home today... Details to follow...

Sunday, October 26, 2008
We all gathered out at Nana's house to celebrate Alyssa's 19th birthday. I thought it would be fun to carve pumpkins while we had all of the kids in one place. Boy was I right! The evening started out calm and cool. We were all carving our pumpkins and having a great time.

Reese was too busy picking her nose to be much interested in the pumpkin carving. She didn't like the feel of the pumpkin innards on her hands, anyway.

Jason and Nathan got started on Nate's pumpkin right away. Nathan was ready!

Alyssa and Katie worked together to get Katie's pumpkin ready for carving. Look at that evil little look on Alyssa's face... You can tell that trouble is a brewing in that mind of hers!

There's even a picture of ME! You can tell that Allison, who isn't in any of the pictures, had the camera.

I think Katie's favorite part of the pumpkin carving was playing in the pumpkin guts!

At least they look cute digging in that orange stuff!

Jason is SERIOUS about this pumpkin carving thing.

Now the digging begins... That should be Nathan's favorite part. He's our little dirt bug!

Caleb is elbow deep in his pumpkin, too!

The fun really began when Matt, Alyssa's boyfriend, decided it would be funny to hit Nana with a handful of pumpkin. All kinds of chaos broke out when the boys got into the action. The rest of us just had to join in, too!

You can see Matt in the background getting ready to flog Nana with a big wad of pumpkin. Alyssa is just "innocently" sitting on the sidelines...

I won't go into detail, but I will say, it got messy!

As you can see, Nana's kitchen was pretty much trashed. We all took a turn cleaning up, and it was cleaner than ever before long. The floor was extremely slippery. It's a wonder Matt didn't split his pants!

All of our Jack-O-Lanterns came out great. I don't have photos of Katie's, Alyssa's or Nathan's pumpkin yet, but will post them as soon as I get them! What a fun night!

Happy Birthday Katie!

Thursday, October 16, 2008
Sunday was Katie's birthday, so we took her to see the 2008 Tour of Gymnastics Superstars. It was amazing! The gymnasts were all something special to see. Katie loved it, and so did I. Anna, Alyssa and Nana all had a great time, too.

We left after the show and headed to Chuck E. Cheese for a little more birthday fun with the cousins, Caleb and Nathan, Aunt Allison, David and Reese. Nana had to leave for work, but the rest of us had a ball.

Sunroom Makeover

Wednesday, October 8, 2008
Well, I finally did it. I finally got around to doing a "makeover" on our sunroom. I love it! We use our sunroom more than any other room in the house. It's only about 250 square feet, but we keep all of the kids' toys and the TV and the computer in that room. I think it's great because all of the mess stays out of my living room, which is strictly an adult room. I love having a room that stays clean! I love escaping to my living room to read or just sit around ant talk without all of the noise of the TV and the clutter of toys. Let me know what you think of my color choices! I built the bookcase and used my Cricut to cut the blue and brown vinyl polka dots on it. It's not classy, but I like it! I LOVE my new sofa! I ordered it from Home Reserve. It arrived at my door in two UPS boxes! I put it together myself! The fabric is ALL removable, including the arms and the back cushions. I can just throw it in the washer, and if I get bored with the color I can just order another coverset! How cool is that? The fabric is pet/child proof. Red Kool-aid just beads up and wipes off! AWESOME! You should check out their website.

Overall I'm happy with my new room. I now have a dedicated scrapbooking area (no photos of it yet), a double desk that my loving husband built for me, a "kid" area and a wonderful view of my back yard!
